What is the IMPACT of mastering Electoral College Strategy? Winning United States Presidency isn’t just about votes. Winning United States Presidency requires skills. Some of these skills include strategy, critical thinking, and mastering Electoral College. Why does it matter? Because it does. Voting and choosing US President is one of the most important civic duties for US citizens.
Do you have those skills? Do you have what it takes to win the US Presidency? By playing the Election Lab Online (ELO) you can put your skills to the test.
Announcement!
We are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting more Election Lab Online (ELO) gameplay events via Zoom. Sometimes we host events on Discord as well on our Discord server. Make sure to keep checking our website regularly for updates about upcoming events: https://electionlab.org/
When? Our upcoming events will be held on Weekly Wednesdays, March 19th and March 26th, 2025, at 4 PM PT. Make sure to register to receive a Zoom link.
What will the events look like? A high stakes battles for electoral victory!
And of course: the best civics game to win US Presidency recently, got even better !
How is that, you might ask?
Because, unlike most of the prior events that hosted gameplays for U.S. Election year 2024, we created more. Now, players can not only play election 2024, but they can go back in history and play historic elections, including 1860! Can you imagine recreating 1860 election from campaign strategist point of view? It is pretty cool. Do you remember who were Presidential candidates in 1860 election?
Now, you may ask: why should I play? Because history and STEM intertwine and combine in a uniquely innovative way! So, you can compete and test your electoral strategies to win the US Presidency. You can learn and have fun. And if you are an educator, you can explore innovative ways of teaching this important subject to increase civic engagement of your students.
So, do you think you have some good strategies to win?
Can you outmaneuver your opponents and claim the presidency?
One winner. One White House. Will it be YOU?

A little background:
If you came all the way down here in your reading, would you like to know: How Did It All Start?
It all started WITH our kids and FOR our kids and other kids like them. Yes, but how? Well, it all started as a math lesson. Math lesson and civics? Exactly! Combining STEM and civics, with a goal to decrease cognitive biases, sharpen critical thinking skills, and elucidate complex path of Electoral College as a mechanism to win US Presidency. But quickly, it evolved into something much bigger.
From a Lesson to a Movement
Math Meets Civics: What started as “Electoral College Swing States Bingo” course, course for gifted and talented youth and after-school program, became a powerful, hands-on way to teach students this complex pathway to winning a U.S. Presidential election.
From Paper to Board Games: Immediately, the excitement grew. To make experience even more engaging, we created paper-based games. Those paper-based games were very popular. As a result, we choose 8 most interesting games to play (except one) and created board-games.
During the election years 2016 and 2020, students were competing in packed MPRs (Multi Purpose Rooms), strategizing how to win US Presidency. Furthermore, these experiences were electrifying, memorable, team-based competitions. Students were learning and having fun!
From Board Games to Digital Games: A decade of dedication and grass-roots impact led to something even more innovative and scalable—Election Lab Online. Thanks to our persistence, resilience and perseverance, we applied for and ultimately won prestigious grants that allowed us to build online games.
Talking about blood, sweat and tears put into a passion project that grew into something much bigger than ourselves! And we didn’t stop there. We aim to create something even bigger….
As Thomas A Edison noted: “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” Obviously, we tried many many times.
Gratitude & Recognition
Besides our leadership, I owe gratitude to my amazing & innovative ed tech and creative team. This journey would not have been possible without them. In addition, we are grateful for the support of prestigious grant Awards and support from the US Department of Education.
As noted above, we won competitive grants from the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences, standing out among other visionary, brilliant impact-driven entrepreneurs. I could not be more thrilled and proud about that achievement.
In addition, those hard-to-get grants helped transform our passion into an award-winning EdTech tool—making civics education fun, engaging, and transformative.
A Heartfelt Thank You
I also want to express a heartfelt thank you to so many others including:
Our students, players and learners who we worked with and taught over the last 12+ years. Thank you for embracing this experience and making it your own. Thank you for playing and learning and of course, passing it forward. We are thrilled it made a difference in your lives.
In addition to students, there are number of Educators and Institutions that recognized the power of game-based learning.
To conclude, I need to also thank our colleagues, friends, and family who have been cheer-leading & supporting us over the years. And those who have been participating in our live events.
To briefly sum up, I am thankful for it all and for you all. You know who you are.
Evidently, our Election Lab Journey has been a bold journey of resilience, innovation, and persistence—and we’re just getting started.
The IMPACT of Election Lab Online
Our impact ranges from reaching and educating elementary school to middle school, high school students and beyond! We had college students, graduate, postgraduate professionals play as well as educators at all levels of education.
Evidently, our players have walked away with deeper knowledge and strategic thinking skills. Some of them were amazed at the clarity and insight they gained about electoral process, after playing ELO.
In addition, some players were even inspired to vote after experiencing the game’s real-world impact!
In conclusion: this is more than a game. One day we hope it to be a civic learning revolution.
